A bit of darkness is nothing to fear but may have kept me from getting this album at first. Now that I've given it a few rounds, it's really grown on me. Song of the day from album of the week. "Angel Tongue" from Light Asylum's S/T album. Dig it.

Returning to my office the other day, I walked into this song. And it just hit right. The rest of the album, I'm still having to give some time, but this song is just lovely. Fairly Velvets & Nico-esque. "Traffic Lights" from Lonely Drifter Karen. Dig it.
I was hearing a fair amount of hype about this band and how they sounded like Edward Sharpe and/or Arcade Fire and/or Sigur Ros, etc., so I was a little shy to check them out, but I'm glad I got over that, as it's a pretty solid album. Song of the day from album of the week goes to Of Monsters And Men "Dirty Paws". Give it a chance.
Vintage song of the week - "Happiness Runs" by Donovan off his Barabjagal album. Sounds like he had Belle & Sebastian beat by about 27 years. Dig it.

Really getting into The Men's album, Open Your Heart. Particularly digging this track at the moment. Easily song of the day from album of the week. So bummed that I missed them down at SXSW this year.
Been lost in the woods of being a working father and then at SXSW for the last few weeks. So no postings. Until now. Song of the day from album of the week. It's an obvious choice, but it's pretty darn solid. Nice comeback, Shins.
Two things.
1. I left a fairly large number of albums off of my Top 100 list by accident. Probably due to being an overworked new father who listens to a ton of music daily. Therefore, I will be posting an addendum to my list here shortly.
2. Digging the new Chairlift album alot. Liked their first one, for sure, but this one is catching me right off the bat. Check out this gem.
