Starlight and dewdrops are waiting for thee.

DFA Records is just about to reissue this 12" from Justine and The Victorian Punks.

Gonna Come Back As A Ghost.

I don't know too much about this band yet, but what I've heard so far, I dig.
Check out the title track from their Bicho de Luz EP.
Reminds me of vintage Aphex Twin.

Find a shoulder to lay your head upon. [Imaginary Soundtracks #1]

So I've decided that I'm going to start a new ongoing addition to this blog, that I am calling "Imaginary Soundtracks".

It'll be weekly (or so) postings of songs that I have always wanted to see in a soundtrack of some beautiful, yet-to-be-created film.
Some songs may be obvious, but many will be deep-cuts.
And I would like to encourage anyone, especially filmmakers/directors/creatives to actually utilize these tracks I share.
Just give me a little nod in the credits, yo.

First up, we have Lorraine Ellison:

You will still infiltrate my system.

So my external drive with all my music on it died this weekend and caused a big mess.
Smartly, I keep a back-up and for the most part came out unscathed.
While rebuilding my iTunes' playlists, I came across this Via Tania song, which I don't really know well and it just caught my ear.
Now I want it to catch yours.

Dedicated to my friend, Hawthorne, whom I dearly miss.

'cause I'm looking out for #1.

Call it Drag, Witch House, Haunted House, what-you-will, etc. (http://pitchfork.com/features/articles/7806-ghosts-in-the-machine/),
but no matter what, I'm really digging what these kids are up to.
My friend Max turned me onto Blackbird Blackbird sometime ago and now I'm turning you on to it.

Also, there's more free tracks from the band here:

Yeah, your confidence is gone and your friends are no friends at all.

I don't know much about Eamon McGrath yet, but that doesn't stop his album from kicking my butt.
Punk-blues-folk-rock?
Certainly.
Love its' rawness.
Have a listen to the first track:
