"Have to believe in your self and free your soul."

Happy 2013 all. My top albums of 2012 list is on the way. Hang tight. In the meantime, check out one of the tracks I've been digging for a little while from Foxygen, off their upcoming album, 'We Are The 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace and Magic'. Called "Shuggie". Here's to great things in 2013.

All the papers roll it a different way.

The past two nights I've been out at The Bell House.
Sunday night it was Catfish Haven.
A band of an unfortunate name but who can rock with the best of them.
And last night I was out to see Foreign Born, who were absolutely amazing.
So glad that I caught them on their last night of the tour.
Though it was The Veils that really surprised me.
Today I re-listened to their current album, Sun Gangs,
and it's a beautiful album, but they are really a band that one needs to see live.
So much more energy and pathos in their live show.
Deep and soulful.

Don't there lie there lurking behind your troubled walls.

Listened again to this album today, this time on the subway ride into work.
Lots of Jesus & Mary Chain action happening here.
Along with some 70's country/singer-songwriter stuff.
This album really surprised me and is one of my favorites of the year so far.
Makes me want to get into a big American car and hit the road for awhile.
