Back in the new year arms of a wintry homeland.

Well, it's official.
I'm back in the midwest, my old homeland and living in Chicago.
It's cold as heck but the people here in general and my good friends in particular are keeping me warm.
Since I've been hectic with the move and my new job, I'm still in process of putting together my top list of 2010, which should be posted shortly.
In the meantime, I want to share a new jem from STRFKR (i.e. Starfucker) that should prove to be a fave of 2011.
Enjoy.

Happy jokes/on rooftops/life in a day.

Allmusic's review of the album said this:
"An easy to make comparison would be to say Casiokids are Hot Chip but with Jónsi of Sigur Rós on vocals -- more like early Hot Chip when they were still a bit goofy and fun, though, not the current model."
While I think that's a pretty fair take, at the same time, it might be selling it a little short.
I'd encourage you to check it out. It's really growing on me.

Let the sun shine in, face it with a grin, smilers never lose and frowners never win.

Two new things keeping the cold, rainy NYC day feeling sunny:
my new Solitary Arts (i.e. Geoff McFetridge + Yong-Ki Chang) Pocket Horn skateboard
and the latest Love Is All album.
Plus, I got to see my old W+K friends, Leah & Rachel (Hello Artists), today.
Sunshine comes in all sorts of forms.
Dig.
