Like shadows will leave when the time comes.

Forest Fire's album, Staring At The X, on Fat Cat Records, has been out since last fall but it somehow got lost in the woods for me until just recently. And now I find myself listening to it quite a lot. Glad it found its way out. The whole album is worth a listen. This track should give you a sense of it.

OOD FOOD HER (Dancing Girls)

Though it's been out for a little bit, I'm just lately getting into Hauschka's latest album.
It's great little avant-garde/experimental piano playfulness gets my pick of "song of the day from album of the week". Check it.

I look a little tongue-tied.

Sometimes a band's name can be a detriment in me checking them out.
That was definitely the case with We Were Promised Jetpacks.
I kept hearing about them but envisioned them to be some twee-pop cutesy outfit.
That is until Bryan Ray kept telling me to check the album ("These Four Walls") out, which I eventually did.
It came out last year, I got into it last year and now I'm revisiting it again.
Felt like giving it some attention to those who might not know of it.
Have a listen:

Hitting my stride, getting into the zone, stripping things to the bone.

It's Friday and I'll be heading home shortly to hook up our new Wii and play with Bailey into the wee hours of the night.
In the meantime, I'm still obsessing over this new album, and in particular, this track and wanted to share it.
Guess I'm just a sucker for distortion in folk music.

Also, saw this new-ish wheatpasting on my block:
