Outside, it's a rising sun. But we ain't got no time for it.

Went to go visit friends over at VICE today.
Included a nice lunch with Jamie, who runs the show at their record label,
a cat that climbed on the restaurant tables,
french fries, a woman playing singing saw at the Union Square subway stop
and a armful of music/print goodies.

Lieutenant, there is talk pertaining, interpretations. The problems, describe them.

Got a new board from Shut and a veggie burger from Tiny's on my lunch-hour.
Love that it's riffing on the old Keith Meek Santa Cruz Slasher.
I'll be riding this baby to my show tonight.
Now that I'm East Coast, I gotta represent.
Good times.

Sound As A Missing Color - Takagi Masakatsu

I'm working on a Young & Rubicam project at the moment and was thinking about Takagi Masakatsu and his work. I found this Apple Pro Profile of him that I hadn't seen in some time and remembered how lovely of a person he is and how interesting and beautiful his music and art is. Just wanted to share.

Hitting my stride, getting into the zone, stripping things to the bone.

It's Friday and I'll be heading home shortly to hook up our new Wii and play with Bailey into the wee hours of the night.
In the meantime, I'm still obsessing over this new album, and in particular, this track and wanted to share it.
Guess I'm just a sucker for distortion in folk music.

Also, saw this new-ish wheatpasting on my block:

People, my people, do you not want to go?

Silent Knights (Bryan + me) will be DJing tomorrow night at the PICA & Paper magazine party at the new Ace Hotel in NY.
DJ Spooky will be also jumping on the decks.
My guess? Fun will be had by all.

And I will be spinning cuts like this:

I wonder, wonder I do.

Going to see an awesome show at the Bowery Ballroom tonight.
The War On Drugs are opening up for Rodriguez.
And if it stays warm this evening, I'll be riding my bike to it.
Summer is getting closer every day.
