Through all of my sorrow, you can hear me say, I know we can make it.

Going through my albums from 2010 to start putting together my top list and came across this great reissue again.
I'll be working this particular track into my DJ sets:

Theme for snowflakes and bells.

Just finally catching up with the Feeling Today EP from the band, Botany, that was released a few months ago on Western Vinyl.
Reminds me at times of mid-90's Mo' Wax stuff, along with early 2000's IDM.
Perfect winter weather music to make you feel cozy.
The whole EP is awesome.
Really digging it.

Shocking, shaking.

Got a promo of Egon from Stones Throw's latest effort in his ongoing aural archaeology series.
This time it comes from Indonesia. Indonesian psych prog/funk/rock to be exact.
It's called "Those Shocking, Shaking Days. Indonesian Hard, Psychedelic, Progressive Rock and Funk: 1970 - 1978" and the whole album kills it.
Check out the title track:

Extra bright, I want y'all to see this.

Song of the day from album of the week, likely of the year.

Hoping I get to make it out to the secret show at the Bowery Ballroom tonight.
Let's have a toast for the douchebags, who also happen to be geniuses.

Missles, baby.

Song of the day from album of the week.

Picked this new War On Drugs EP on vinyl a little bit ago.
Love their sound.Reminds me of Arcade Fire/Bruce Springsteen/driving the NJ turnpike.
Perfect for road trips. Which I will be taking soon.

Feel it in the air, let it swoop like hawk.

It's been out for a little bit but I'm just finally checking out Spoek Mathambo's album, Mshini Wam, and I really dig it. That said, it begs the question of how to describe it and in some ways, it's really hard to say. So many young people are now making music via this method of having every reference and no reference. It's a genre and cultural hodgepodge and I love this younger people's music that's essentially all-hybrid and no-genre. Who cares what it's called, I just know it's good.

Even the darkest night feels small against the morning light.

Happy Friday. It's been a long, long week.
As such, I needed some soothing, dreamy music to wind down to and the new Sun Airway album is fitting the bill quite nicely.
Time to get lost for a bit.
